👫 The Date Experience
You might not be aware of this, but 8th March is the International Women’s day, celebrated across Western and Eastern Europe. Since my lady comes from that side of the world, I decided to organize a romantic staycation in the city. After some research I chose the Rosewood Hotel Georgia. Its one of the oldest hotels in Vancouver, which was recently renovated and has some beautiful rooms and amenities.
The night before we stayed at the Harrison Hot Springs so the Woman’s Day morning had to start there. I will write a separate post on it since we did a lot of fun things that day and it might give some you great ideas for a romantic day together. In a nutshell, my lady woke up to flowers and breakfast in bed and we drove to Vancouver. I got a Deluxe room at the Rosewood hotel and booked a 90-minute massage and facial for her their Spa – Sense. Quick tip, make sure to book the spa ahead of time, you might be lucky to get a couple experience and join your partner for the relaxing afternoon.
I also made a reservation at the hotel restaurant Hawksworth, which certainly deserved a separate post, but for now I’d just say. Its pretty damn good! We had to move reservation to later, since ladies never tend to be on time and mine is not an exception. It was Sunday so I was able to change the time with no problem, but if you’re booking a Friday or Saturday night, I would recommend making a later reservation, just in case 🙂
Lastly, I want to say a little bit about the service at Rosewood Hotel Georgia. A few days prior to the date, I asked them to print an itinerary for the day so I could surprise her in the morning. They were very helpful and did a great job with the itinerary. They also accommodated my late checkout request, so P could enjoy a slow morning with a breakfast room service.

🙋♀️ Her Thoughts
This was the most magical date ever! I woke up to flowers, gifts and breakfast in bed, and felt like a princess. I got a fancy agenda for the day, which I found quite clever and very romantic and the whole experience was very well organized.
Needless to say, I absolutely loved the Sense Spa. I’ve been to a few hotel spas, but Sense at Rosewood was THE BEST so far. They massage bed was electric and adjustable, I was also able to create preferred ambiance in the room by changing lighting and music. The masseur was professional and attentive the whole time, ensuring I have a great experience. And oh, I did! The massage was followed by her tea in the Spa lounge before I got called to my next treatment. I can go on and on, how good the spa was, but I’ll just say its the fastest way to a lady's heart.
After the treatments, I had some time to relax and get ready at the hotel. The room was beautifully renovated, with a marble bathroom and a large soaking tub. We drank campaign, we laughed and celebrated!
The dinner portion of the day at the Hawksworth restaurant definitely deserves a separate review. I’ve been there before and its truly a sophisticated dining experience. A sommelier recommended great wine and food was fantastic. I also really like atmosphere at that restaurant, it has a retro romantic flare…
My man definitely impressed me with this unforgettable experience, which I will remember as one of our first romantic staycations in Vancouver.

🙋♂️His Thoughts
This was our first traditional "holiday" together so I wanted to do something special for her. Since its not a Canadian holiday, I had to do some research to determine the level of interment. And in Eastern Europe men go all in on the 8th March so I had measure up.
I started the day with flowers, breakfast in bed and a gift (according to P, that is expected, lol). I had to improvise a bit, since we decided to join our friends at the Harrison Springs the night before. Since I couldn’t bring the surprises into the room, I had to go on a 3am mission in the freezing to get the stuff from the car.
Regardless - the morning went smoothly and we made it to the city on time for the planned activities. Once we got the hotel and sent my lady to the spa, I got to enjoy some scotch at the bar and catch up on work. I also made sure to move the dinner reservation, suspecting she won’t be ready on time.
The dinner was perfect and she was very happy, that all I needed to accomplish so I’ll leave at that. The only thing that got me a little disappointed is that the Prohibition Bar downstairs the hotel was closed for renovation so the evening had to end after dinner.
All in all, if you want to earn some serious points and impress your lady on a special day, whether its her birthday, anniversary or another special occasion, check out the Rosewood Hotel and the Spa.
